MRNA FREE

We are not, and will not be using any vaccines containing mRNA spike proteins.

Conventional Animals

Why vaccinations are commonly used

Let’s address the use of vaccines in conventional production models, including conventional grass-fed. Poor genetics, management practices, and the centralization of food supply all play significant roles. Vaccines are essential to maintain the animals’ health in this situation.  In a conventional system, animals are constantly moved and transported, which adds to their already stressful physiological state during the critical growth period of under two years old.

When animals are subjected to transportation and comingling with other animals it only heightens their stress levels and raises them at a greater risk of contracting illnesses from pathogens. It’s akin to how our global travel system operates, where we’re constantly in contact with foreign pathogens. Consequently, unvaccinated animals have a more significant chance of falling ill in this system.

Vaccines have become a standard in our centralized production system.  All Natural Certifications and USDA Certified Organic regulations allow vaccinations. If you purchase beef from a supermarket, it’s highly probable that it has been given one and most likely numerous vaccinations during its lifecycle. In fact, all animals are routinely vaccinated as soon as they arrive at each stage – this is an industry standard.

Our Animals

About Us

Over the last 70 years cattle in the United States and throughout the word, have been selected for traits to enhance their production in confined animal feeding operations (CAFOS). Because of this most of the animals are not adapted to an all grass environment.

We started out with the type of cattle that are available in our area, the cattle genetics mentioned above that have not been bred to thrive on grass. Therefore, knowing that our cattle only eat grass, we chose to vaccinate to ensure the animals stayed healthy.

Vaccination use on our farm is limited. We only use a few compared to the industry.  These are killed vaccines that have been around for decades, and have a long proven track record of being safe for our animals as well as our family and customers. Our management choices have allowed us to eliminate the herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, insecticides used in conventional grass based systems. With each season, these natural practices strengthen the land and forage by rebuilding the nutrition in the soil and forage.  Consuming this forage and living in a natural system improves the natural immunity of the animals. Vaccines are the next to go and we have a vaccine elimination plan.

We do not, and will not use any vaccines containing mRNA spike proteins.

Our Future

Vaccine Elimination Plan

Our birth to harvest (on the same farm) production, coupled with meticulous animal genetic selection has been a game-changer for our farm. We are  now working toward eliminating vaccines altogether and moving towards a vaccine-free operation in the next few years. This process takes time, monitoring, research, and professional opinion regarding animal health and risk.  This goal is due to our unwavering commitment to animal welfare and ensuring that our livestock thrives in a forage-based system. We rotate our animals frequently, simulating a natural environment, and ensure that they are born, raised, and remain on our farm for their entire life cycle. It is through our management choices that it may be possible to make vaccines a thing of the past. Of course, this all natural vaccine free approach may not be viable in the current, centralized and industrialized system, but for us, it is a priority to have healthy animals that can thrive as nature intended.

Being transparent about your beef production is a priority and we will post to this page with any updates or changes to our vaccination policy.
